Got this fabulous idea off of Fen!
This is apparently doing the blog rounds, so thought I'd give it a go.. Fuck me, did I have some trouble, or what?! Blogger sucks at not letting you upload just an audio. So I had to spend shit loads of time using iMovie, and pissing around with all sorts of stuff. Anyway, it's done, and hopefully, it will not screw up my blog by being too big, and taking up the whole fkn blog!
So... here is what I had to follow...
Say these words:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon,
Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon,
Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught.
Now answer these questions:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you change the TV channel with?
I am meant to tag other bloggers to do the same, but after all the trouble I went through, I don't feel I should burden anyone with this!
Feel free to take the idea on board, and do it if you wish... let me know if you do. Would love to hear what all of my bloggy mates sound like. :o)
PS- I hate my fucking voice.
EDIT- FFS....it HAS fucking taken up nearly ALL of my blog! Meh..
...Ute...
LOL that's adorable. is that you in the photos? you're gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAhhh! i heard Utey!
ReplyDeleteLove the S.A accent! i bet u call stras fritz!
Cutie~
ReplyDeleteI love your voice!!! You may not believe this, but foreign accents are so lovely to me.
I only wish I could sound like you...I'm soooooo jealous!
=]
Kisses Baby!
Good to hear your lovely voice again!
ReplyDeleteAround here, the toilet paper thing is a prank by high school kids where they drape rolls on lawns, trees, shrubs, house, cars, called "wrap" or "TP." Almost impossible to remove if it gets wet!
You sound just how I thought you would. You have quite a soft voice, not as harsh as some Aussies (although us Kiwis sound way better :-))
ReplyDelete'WOW' that was lovely... thank you for sharing... =]
ReplyDeleteIndi
xx
Utebabe: oh hell yeah...that was outstanding. I love your accent. I give it a go if can manage to do it step by step without screwing it up.
ReplyDeletethanks sweetie. xxx
PS...i call the television channel changer...the TV thingy. :)
Emma- Yep, 'tis me! Thanks! :o)
ReplyDeleteHazzee- And I SAW You!!! ;o)
Oh, how'd ya guess?! It's fritz 'n sauce, or it's nuffink!
Cheeky- I believe you. I LOVE,LOVE to hear different accents. Especially French and different US ones. I'm not all that great at picking where they originate, but I can pick up a New York accent fairly easy.
You'll have to practice your Aussie lingo, you'll be the talk of the town!!! :o))
Xl- Awwwwwww. ;o)
Oh, I've seen it done in movies, but I don't think it's done much over here. I could be wrong though.
xox
Tracy- Soft?! HA! Srsly? I always thought I was loud. Well that's what the 'Outlaws' reckon. ;o)
Funny, If Memphis Steve happens to drop by, he'll tell you he finds it hard to tell the Oz and NZ accents apart! But you and I know different...aye. ;o)
Indi- You're welcome. :o)
Spiky- Oh yes! Dooooo eeeeeeeeeeeet! Would love to hear you. You could sing somethin'...yeah?
xox
Loves!!! I would have almost pegged you for a new zealander :0) But I'm crap at picking accents.
ReplyDeleteYou sound lovely! I will have a go, but I'm a bit useless at this sort of technology.
BTW what do you call donuts, slides (as in playgrounds) & potato cakes? Just want to know if someone (else) from SA was having a lend of me :0)
PS when I said NZ I meant someone who'd been living here for ages & had lost most of their accent!!!!
ReplyDeleteCat- lolz, WUT?!?! That is the 1st time anyone has said that I sound Kiwi. I've heard that I have a faint pommy accent. Which is understandable, being brought up by two pommy parents. I was teased at school for the way I pronounce "One".
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, yes, yes! Do it!!! :o))
We call donuts, donuts! Slides we call slippery dips, and Potato cake is still potato cake, as far as I know. Depends on where you're brought up too I suppose.
I have noticed that most Eastern staters and Qld folk pronounce somethings very differently... like, school and pool. They really emphasise the 'oo'. We tend to say it like, 'Schawl', and 'Pawl'. They say it all posh like, "PEWL" and "SCHEWL". ;op
My mate is from NZ, and you only ever hear her accent come out when she's talking with her mum or something. Which is like my Mum... when her and Grandma were ever talking, Oh God.... Yorkshire accent!!!
OMG you sound like me
ReplyDeletehehe.
Thinking I might have to have a go at it too. My Overseas bloggy friends are always picking on the words I use. Could be good fun
Mynx- Strewth! Must be the South Aussie thing.. ;o)
ReplyDeleteOh, do it! It'll be a great post for all your OS bloggy mates! You may have to throw in some real, true blue Aussie lingo. Just to spice it up. :o)
Ah...the pommy in ya! I did say I wasn't good at accents.
ReplyDeleteI was told a South aussie calls jam donuts berlina's
slides slippery dips & to be honest I've forgotten what the (odd) name was for the tattie cakes!
Cat- Ooooh, you shoulda been more specific! Yeah, we call jam donuts berlinas, if they're iced on top that is.
ReplyDeleteBut technically speaking, they're not a donut, 'cos they 'aint got no hole! :op
Lemme know if you remember the potato cake thingy.... I used to LOVE them!
Last time I had one, it didn't taste quite the same. Tasted just like an oversized chip. :o/
CAT! I must've had a brain freeze or summink!
ReplyDeletePotato FRITTER!
We also have pineapple fritters. Mboy loves them.
Excellent idea. I've been trying for some time to upload iphone voice messages instead of typing, and this is a much better idea.
ReplyDeleteSmart girl!
:)
Ms Smack- I still haven't worked out how to use my mobile for blogging. All I've ever used it for is Fartbook!
ReplyDelete;o)
oh poo I can't see this from work, I'll have to wait til my days off to hear your lovely voice! Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteFen- Don' go expectin' too much! ;o)
ReplyDeleteooh I hear ya. You do have a little South Aussie twang, some words you say a tad posher. Love it!
ReplyDeleteFen- Ha! Posh....pfffffffttt! ;o)
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved an Australian accent. I want one!!!
:D
Deeds! Lol, strewth! Start practicing! xox
ReplyDeleteYou sound exactly as I had imagined... : )
ReplyDeleteLove it. Im gonna try. xx
Friday- Oh yay!!! Can't wait to hear you, too!!! :o)))
ReplyDeleteI FINALLY got to hear your video. I like your Aussie accent! I may yet do this. We'll have to see if I can find the time. Yours was cool.
ReplyDeleteSteve- Finally!
ReplyDeleteYou HAVE to do it! I wanna hear your Southern drawl! :o)
K. i did the recording!!! Now I have to convert the file into something recognisable..... gimme another week i recon. not to good at this technology :0)
ReplyDeleteCat- W00t!!! :o))
ReplyDeleteOk, I kept forgetting you did this, and FINALLY (at 1230am) I looked it up to listen to your voice! You sound lovely Kelsey :)
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting the difference between your's, Stephen's, and my ex GF's accents though. Just like the differences of ours here in the states.
Fuse- Nyaaw, you're lovely, aren't you. ;o)
ReplyDeleteYes, it's only very slight the difference. Give it time(a couple hundred more years!), and I reckon there will be more of a noticable difference between the states.
